V Terezínském ghettu v roce 1943 měla premiéru dětská opera Brundibár. Děti, zároveň vězni, později zemřely v Osvětimi. Holocaust není jen prázdný pojem, Holocaust jsou osudy konkrétních lidí. Konkrétní zničený životy, konkrétní tváře, ruce,… Hodně lidí si dnes, po více než 70 letech, dovoluje relativizovat utrpení obětí. S tím nemůžeme souhlasit a k tomu nechceme mlčet. To, co se dělo ve 40. letech 20. Století, je aktuální i v roce 2018. Lidi stále umírají kvůli etnickému původu nebo náboženství a většině z nás je to jedno. Vždyť je to daleko, vždyť to jsou cizí lidi.

In the Terezín ghetto in 1943, the children’s opera Brundibár had its premiere. The children – prisoners at the same time - later died in Auschwitz. Holocaust is not just an empty concept, Holocaust are the stories of particular people. Specific ruined lives, particular faces, hands, … Nowadays, after more than 70 years, people don’t hesitate to relativize the suffering of the victims. We can not agree with that, and we do not want to remain silent. What was happening in the 1940s is also current now, in 2018. People are still dying because of ethnic origin or religion, and most of us don’t care. After all it's far away and they are strangers.
